Programs
Our Comprehensive Approach
KnowHep Foundation addresses hepatitis B elimination through four interconnected pillars designed to create sustainable change across Sierra Leone's health system.
Prevention Through Vaccination
We advocate for implementation of the hepatitis B birth dose vaccine and provide catch-up vaccination services. Our vaccine distribution program has protected 600 newborns through donations to healthcare facilities.
Community-Based Screening
Our mobile screening programs target high-risk populations including pregnant women, students, healthcare workers, and vulnerable communities. We've conducted systematic screenings across multiple districts, identifying previously unknown infections.
Healthcare Capacity Building
We train healthcare workers on proper screening protocols, diagnosis criteria, and treatment guidelines. Our educational programs ensure healthcare providers can deliver quality care while reducing stigma and discrimination.
Policy Advocacy and System Strengthening
We work with government partners to implement national hepatitis policies and integrate hepatitis services into primary healthcare systems.
Making the world a better place
Every action we take, no matter how small, has the potential to create positive change that ripples outward. Making the world a better place isn't about grand gestures or perfect solutions—it's about consistent commitment to improving the lives of others and the communities we serve. We believe that meaningful change happens when organizations and individuals unite around shared values of compassion, equity, and progress.
